![]() ![]() After anticipation by Gomez, "Good for You" was digitally released on Jby Interscope and Polydor Records, serving as Revival's lead single as well as the first song by the singer to be released through those labels. After it was reworked by Lambroza, she sent the song to Rocky, who added new instruments and co-produced it with his frequent collaborator Hector Delgado, who was in charge of Rocky's vocal production. Gomez then received the song through the trio's A&R and was entirely involved in its creative session, helping to develop it as a representation of her process of self-realization, her confidence as a young woman, and her feelings of vulnerability. Originally, the track was conceived by the writers in 45 minutes, during a session booked by the latter. The track was written by Gomez, ASAP Rocky, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, Nolan Lambroza and Nick Monson, being produced by the latter two. It features vocals by American rapper ASAP Rocky. ![]() The app in its current state deserves one star, but I gave it two just because Genius is so wonderful.when it actually works."Good for You" is a song by American singer Selena Gomez from her second studio album, Revival (2015). Started the app back up, frozen at the home screen, and this time summoning SIRI was no help.įor the past two weeks I’ve wanted to see if there are any good annotations for Deerhunter songs. The app hung with me as I perused four annotations on one song, but when I tried to follow a link to a different song in the fourth annotation, *CRASH*. Today was the first day in ~two weeks that I’ve even been able to get to the search bar, and only then by popping in Siri and then exiting. Problem is, over the last 2 or 3 updates, it’s become a chore to interact with, frequently freezing on the very first screen. I looooooove Genius, a treasure trove of hidden insights into songs you already love and thought you knew, as well as a portal for discovering new music you haven’t had a chance to love yet. Plus it’s a handy guide to the types of issues that in my case at least could be addressed with reinstallation. Great when it works, which isn’t now (ok now it is)Īfter the latest update did nothing to fix Genius’s many issues, i deleted and reinstalled the app, and it’s been working quite well since, so I bumped the rating back up, but I’m going to leave my original review in case said problems come back. Overall the profile tab seems worthless now, but could be better in the future. If you sign into google it takes your google account picture and makes it your profile picture without giving you a way to change it later. They make it out like you can personalize your profile based on your style of music, which seems cool, but is not really the case. When you download the app you can sign into a profile like any other app now but in Genius your profile is almost meaningless. It’s a bummer because i can’t find a way to get around it.ģ. It makes for a cool background but every time i want to make one right before i save it to my camera roll the app decides to crash. There is a feature in the app where in a song you can take a picture given to you from the artist or your own picture and take lyrics from a particular song and put it over the picture. When you watch the videos in the app and you try to flip your device sideways the video will stay in the upright position (even with lock rotation on allowing you to freely move your portrait), which is annoying since the picture is already as small as it is.Ģ. But a few things that are really irritating and annoying are:ġ. I love the interface and the way you navigate throughout the app. Pretty good overall but has some glitches

![]() The blend is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot.Įlegantly styled, despite some serious heft, this offers a mix of alluring mulberry, griotte and cassis notes bearing a gently mulled edge, while flashes of apple wood, sweet bay leaf and red tea flicker along the edges. It's another beautiful wine from this team. I don't think it has the same precision as the 2018, but it brings another level of hedonism. Beautiful black raspberry, cassis, toasted spice, lead pencil, and subtle oak all make an appearance, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a rounded, layered mouthfeel, impressive tannins, and a great finish. Similarly ruby/purple-hued, the 2019 Opus One is cut from the same cloth as the 2018 yet has a touch more baby fat and opulence, at least as this stage. A blend of 78% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, 7% petit verdot, 6% cabernet franc and 1% malbec. Fantastic length and structure to the wine, with tightness and focus. The purity of fruit is really something else here, with currants and fresh flowers, such as violets and roses. Tasted as a barrel sample, this is a truly magnificent Opus One in the making! Full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with juicy black, blue and red fruits, framed by velvety tannins and background freshness, finishing on a compelling earthy/mineral note. This year, with the 2019s, he was still tweaking the blend, but he did mention that this is "pretty close to the final blend." Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Opus One leaps from the glass with notes of Black Forest cake, Morello cherries, mulberries and fresh blackcurrants plus hints of licorice, wilted roses, Sichuan pepper and iron ore. Winemaker Michael Silacci commented that usually the blends are finished in January or February after the vintage. A delicate dark chocolate bitterness lingers on the finish.īlend: 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec The freshness and soft glow of acidity create a subtle tension with dark fruit flavors, savory herbs, espresso, and cocoa. The creamy, satiny texture is framed by fine-grained tannins. The Opus One 2019 has intense aromas of black plum, blueberry, black currant, and dried rose petals, accentuated by mineral undertones. **#30 James Suckling's Top 100 USA Wines of 2022** ![]() UberConference was launched in May 2012 at TechCrunch Disrupt that is the annual trade conference. Before the launch of UberConference, the company had launched a restaurant-seating application called NoshList. It most recently took $15 million almost a year and a half ago. UberConference is a cloud-based conferencing system produced by a private company in San Francisco known as Switch Communications, Inc. The company that created UberConference, Firespotter Labs, wants to get more users consistently using the service, and the time may be coming to raise more funding. A new iPhone app is almost finished, he said.Īt the same time that UberConference is trying to simplify life for people who join telephone conferences, startups like AnyMeeting, FuzeBox, and Zoom are also doing so. Host audio or video meetings with up to 100 participants. With UberConference, automate your meeting notes and keep track of next steps with automatic meeting transcriptions. UberConference is also rolling out a new Android application today, featuring “absolutely everything that you can do on the web,” Walker said. UberConference is the only meeting platform that’s ditched pins and downloads to deliver the easiest path to collaboration. The need for transcribing UberConference calls arises because of the benefits that transcribing calls provides. Previously UberConference has added to the conference experience call participants’ pictures and social media feeds, an indication of when a call is being recorded, and buttons to proactively mute participants when their lines get noisy. The Bottom Line UberConference is a popular audio conferencing tool that is used by different businesses to keep in touch with their clients and teams. That’s why the PIN in particular is something UberConference has wanted to eliminate at least since September 2012. “You get a PIN, you dial in, you hear a bunch of beeps, you have to ask who’s there, and you don’t know who’s talking,” Walker said. Dialpad lets you take your conference calls (and video meetings and instant + SMS messaging) on the go with a beautiful, intuitively-designed mobile and. Teleconferencing hasn’t changed much in the past 25 years, Walker said, and the PIN is no exception. It’s just a very, very painful experience,” said Craig Walker, a cofounder and chief executive of UberConference and formerly founder and chief executive of Grand Central, which became Google Voice. ![]() Switch back to the dialer to enter the PIN. “You’re driving in your car, and the calendar pops up. That’s an improvement for users joining teleconferences while in front of a laptop, although it’s arguably a bigger advancement for people in vehicles who carry just smartphones. Like Zoom, Uberconference offers both a free and a paid product and can. Strings of long digits to get into the right conference line need no longer be stored on a piece of paper, in a digital calendar note, in a text message, or in some other random location. Uberconference is another great way to hold meetings and conduct conferences online. Now each customer gets a dedicated 10-digit number. ![]() Harris is buried at home in Patten, his mother said.Īs part of the national convoy, the Harrises brought wreaths to the Mt. It has a higher rate of success in bullet chess since there is very little time for players to analyze and think. ![]() Yes, the 2-move checkmate can occur in any variation of chess, including blitz and bullet chess. The 2-move checkmate is sometimes called Fool’s Mate because it relies on the opposing player making a series of foolish or unwise moves in order to be successful.Ĭan the 2-move checkmate occur in other variations of chess, such as blitz or bullet chess? In doing so, White opens up a direct line of attack on his king. The wheels of this checkmate start rolling when White moves his pawn to either f3 or f4. The player with the white pieces always starts first in a chess game. The steps for performing the 2 move checkmate are: STEP 1 The Steps That Lead To A 2 Move Checkmate Let’s see this type of checkmate in action. For example, learning the two move checkmate might come in handy in case you face a player who doesn’t know about it or a player who plays very badly in the opening.Įnough talk. That said, knowing how to exploit your opponent’s errors is a crucial skill in chess. The odds of you successfully pulling off a 2 move checkmate or Fool’s Mate are incredibly high, and they rely almost entirely on the other player’s inexperience or board blindness. This is because both players are moving so fast that they have limited time to think about threats and traps. ![]() The 2 move checkmate might also occur in bullet chess (a chess game played with 2 minutes or under on the clock for both players). ![]() It can be in other forms, but still with yellow queen on n6, green king on n8 and green figures on m8, m9 and n9.The 2 move Checkmate, also called the Fool’s Mate, is a combination of moves in a chess game that allows the player with the black pieces to checkmate the white king in two moves.Īlthough the 2 move checkmate is the fastest checkmate possible, it relies heavily on the other player making two heavy blunders that do not add any value to the position.īecause of this, the 2 move checkmate is less likely to be found in top-level games.Ĭhess beginners, however, are very likely to fall for the trap as they do not fully understand the principles of chess and have not entirely grasped the idea of how the game is played. Just like Fool's mate, this mate can easily be avoided, if Blue keeps a check on Yellow in hand. Green is in check and has to recapture the queen, but then Yellow mates with Qxn6#, if Blue does not intervene. Then Red captures on n8 and Yellow plays Qh12. Red opens with h3 (or h4), Yellow plays h11 and Green plays l7 (or k7). This is a three-move mate in the Teams variant. This mate can easily be avoided, if Blue keeps a check on Yellow in hand. Red plays Qxn8+ and Yellow supports the queen with Bm7#. If Red and Yellow both open on the dark squares with h3 (or h4) and g12 (or g11), respectively, and Green also opens up the dark squared diagonals with l7 (or k7), then Green gets mated, if Blue does not intervene. The fastest mate in the Teams variant takes only two moves. ![]() In addition to sheets that describe each stem, which include a graphic capture of the relevant audio tracks and the automation items that were involved in each of them, I have also included 1) a comprehensive "TRACKS WINDOW", 2) a "STUDIOS AND CHRONOLOGY" page that details who did what, and where, 3) a description and graphic illustration of one of the more left field processes involved in the “MULTI-SESSION RECONCILIATION EXAMPLE”, and 4) little pointers to details like group edits done to adjust "feel", and mic-bleed happening between performers. In a way this is an idea that's been a long time coming, and with the advent of bandcamp we have a platform to start chipping away at it! This was just to give some idea of how many ways all these elements can be combined musically, just by moving them around. Provided there is continuing interest, we'll build up a library of songs in stems that a) are fun and interesting by themselves, b) illustrate some key production techniques one step at a time, c) open up the many performances to your deeper scrutiny and appreciation, and d) give the creative modifiers & remix jockeys out there something to play with.Īs an example I made five alternate mixes restricting myself to certain small numbers of elements. Although a full instruction in EVERY DETAIL ALL AT ONCE would take an impossible amount of work to put together, and be a pain in the ass for anyone to sit and "study", I think the following scenario will be pretty workable. More than just offering stems, which are all at zero-point and you are free to load into your DAW and mix at leisure, I aim to satisfy the curious with a few descriptions and illustrations of how things came to sound the way they do. ![]() by which things finally come together (a different process for each song, and radically so for each satellite band). This won't be so much a "basic recording and mixing 101" as a big window opening onto the over-arching involved in creating a final Secret Chiefs 3 recording. Moreover, I intend that the Geek Packs would shed light on some of the many proprietary I also want to give creative types some hands-on freedom to explore the mixing process in-depth.
